It is the most common type of cancer, and is very common in countries with increased solar radiation, such as Greece. The number of cases of skin cancers has increased rapidly around the world in recent years.<strong> In Greece, approximately 30,000 incidents of skin cancer are recorded <\/strong>\u03ba\u03b1\u03c1\u03ba\u03af\u03bd\u03c9\u03bd \u03c4\u03bf\u03c5 \u03b4\u03ad\u03c1\u03bc\u03b1\u03c4\u03bf\u03c2<strong> each year of which 1,500 are people with melanoma.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"cmsmasters_row_nywhdw8lwj\" class=\"cmsmasters_row cmsmasters_color_scheme_default cmsmasters_row_top_default cmsmasters_row_bot_default cmsmasters_row_boxed\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_outer_parent\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_outer\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_inner\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_margin\">\n<div id=\"cmsmasters_column_cb05bc1728\" class=\"cmsmasters_column one_first\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_column_inner\"><div class=\"cmsmasters_text\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 115%;\" class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Skin cancers<\/strong> are divided into the following types:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_items_zv7rjdo0ik\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_items cmsmasters_icon_list_type_list\"><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_m0u86w39av\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">Melanoma developed by melanocytes.<\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_pgat7bbq2\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">Non-melanomas that occur 20 times more often than melanoma. It occurs more often in the elderly. Patients over 75 years of age are 5 times more likely to develop basal cell carcinoma than patients 50-55 years of age. It has a slow growth and very <strong>rarely gives metastases<\/strong>. However, it is characterized by local tissue infiltration and expansion, and that is why it should be treated immediately. Basal cell carcinoma develops mainly in areas of the body exposed to the sun (head, neck, upper extremities), but its occurrence in other areas of the body is not ruled out.<\/p>\n<p>Clinically distinguished various forms, such as:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_items_qbr72jq84\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_items cmsmasters_icon_list_type_list\"><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_3r1eqq71qd\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">nodid (as a skin nodule with varicose veins)<\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_1dio0w8789\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">ulcerative (as a wound that does not heal and often bleeds)<\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_ca5fdnrmn\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">the melanchloric (looks like a mole)<\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_4urr9is9o5\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">the surface (as eczema plate)<\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_xq9fx4rnty\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">the hardener (looks like a scar)<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div id=\"cmsmasters_column_vepbe6mub\" class=\"cmsmasters_column one_half\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_column_inner\"><div class=\"aligncenter\"><div class=\"cmsmasters_img  cmsmasters_image_c\"><img src=\"https:\/\/agaliazo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/\u03ba\u03b1\u03c1\u03ba\u03b9\u03bd\u03bf\u03c2-\u03b4\u03b5\u03c1\u03bc\u03b1\u03c4\u03bf\u03c2.jpg\" \/><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"cmsmasters_row_d5crd3usu8\" class=\"cmsmasters_row cmsmasters_color_scheme_default cmsmasters_row_top_default cmsmasters_row_bot_default cmsmasters_row_boxed\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_outer_parent\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_outer\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_inner\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_margin\">\n<div id=\"cmsmasters_column_9pzgl7ltmn\" class=\"cmsmasters_column one_first\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_column_inner\"><div class=\"cmsmasters_text\">\n<h2 style=\"color: #0a0000; text-align: center;\"><strong>Acanthocytic carcinoma<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_text\">\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Second in incidence of skin carcinoma in white, blond individuals. Rare in people with dark skin. More common in elderly people. Patients over 75 years of age are 35 times more likely to develop this carcinoma than patients aged 50-55 years. Typically it develops on the face and bald scalp like a small scaly nodule with a red or rosy base. It grows faster than basal cell carcinoma, develops and destroys the subject tissues. Acanthocytic carcinoma can give metastases. Chronic exposure to sunlight is the <strong>cause<\/strong> for most cases. Frequent use of artificial tanning (solarium) doubles the risk of developing acanthocytic carcinoma. Other risk positions may be burns, scars, ulcers, time wounds and skin spots exposed to either radiation or specific chemicals. Immunosuppression is also a very important factor in the occurrence of acanthocytic disease.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"cmsmasters_row_mn78lcu4q\" class=\"cmsmasters_row cmsmasters_color_scheme_default cmsmasters_row_top_default cmsmasters_row_bot_default cmsmasters_row_boxed\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_outer_parent\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_outer\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_inner\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_margin\">\n<div id=\"cmsmasters_column_0l7ilk4p9k\" class=\"cmsmasters_column one_first\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_column_inner\"><div class=\"cmsmasters_text\">\n<h2 style=\"color: #0a0000; text-align: center;\"><strong>Melanoma<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_text\">\n<p>Melanoma is rarer than other skin cancers, but it is also the most dangerous because it quickly gives metastases. It is the second most common cancer in people aged 15-34. Usually, it appears as a small black spot on the skin or can develop on a pre-existing mole (25%).<\/p>\n<p>Compared to moles, melanomas show:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_items_79xggl78lo\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_items cmsmasters_icon_list_type_list\"><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_568hq7nf31\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">asymmetry,<\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_1p3pkgcim9\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">irregular edge, <\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_jx84tvdorg\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">color unevenness (2-3 shades), <\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_2b6c7964m4\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">size larger than a normal mole. <\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"cmsmasters_row_2skrwnp3rn\" class=\"cmsmasters_row cmsmasters_color_scheme_default cmsmasters_row_top_default cmsmasters_row_bot_default cmsmasters_row_boxed\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_outer_parent\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_outer\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_inner\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_margin\">\n<div id=\"cmsmasters_column_v617yjiidg\" class=\"cmsmasters_column one_first\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_column_inner\"><div class=\"cmsmasters_text\">\n<p>Switching color, size, shape, appearance of bleeding or itching raise the suspicion of melanoma development.\u00a0 The etiology of most skin cancers is associated with excessive exposure to sunlight, especially during childhood. Approximately 9 out of 10 skin cancers (excluding melanoma) and 6 out of 10 melanomas are due to excessive sun exposure. Old sunburns increase the risk of melanoma.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_text\">\n<h2 style=\"color: #000000; text-align: center;\"><strong><br \/>\nFactors contributing to the development of Skin Cancer<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The most important factors that play a role in the development of skin cancer are:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_items_1he9p5qw0p\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_items cmsmasters_icon_list_type_list\"><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_b2hl5k9ttm\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">Sun exposure \u2013 People with light skin are more sensitive to UV radiation and therefore more likely to have some type of skin cancer.<\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_8xikj4uxm\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">Solarium (artificial tanning) \u2013 In addition to sun exposure, solarium exposes the skin to radiation and can have the same effects as those of the sun.<\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_lerjz1n3r\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">Weak immune system \u2013 This can come from chronic diseases or infections, such as HIV (AIDS) or from a weakened body e.g. due to chemotherapy or strong medication.<\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_m76o38116f\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">Age \u2013 The elderly are the main group of people with skin cancer.<\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_gn1n6ikbr8\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">Skin moles on the skin \u2013 Normal or abnormal skin moles, which are larger than normal, are more likely to turn into carcinomas.<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"cmsmasters_row_owt37doi44\" class=\"cmsmasters_row cmsmasters_color_scheme_default cmsmasters_row_top_default cmsmasters_row_bot_default cmsmasters_row_boxed\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_outer_parent\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_outer\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_inner\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_margin\">\n<div id=\"cmsmasters_column_w14qtkf4rt\" class=\"cmsmasters_column one_first\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_column_inner\"><div class=\"cmsmasters_text\">\n<h2 style=\"color: #000000; text-align: center;\"><strong>Skin Cancer Symptoms<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 115%;\">Symptoms in skin cancer types occur in the areas most exposed to UV radiation (face, hands, ears, neck, legs).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 115%;\" class=\"translation-block\">In the case of <strong>basal cell carcinomas<\/strong> the symptoms are minimal. Often the way they manifest themselves resembles other skin conditions such as psoriasis. Its form can be:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_items_0g6kk6ay2v\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_items cmsmasters_icon_list_type_list\"><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_10tnblh00e\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">A white spot that gives the feeling that the skin stretches and shines.<\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_25s5s5zp7\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">Spot with red tint, which can cause pain and itching.<\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_oshnepx3vi\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">Wound that bleeds, secretes fluid and can create a crust.<\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_mfqywpk3dt\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">An ozos that often looks like a mole. It is pink, brown or reddish and shines.<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"cmsmasters_row_vbxfmsq0li\" class=\"cmsmasters_row cmsmasters_color_scheme_default cmsmasters_row_top_default cmsmasters_row_bot_default cmsmasters_row_boxed\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_outer_parent\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_outer\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_inner\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_row_margin\">\n<div id=\"cmsmasters_column_vrs9okyzjh\" class=\"cmsmasters_column one_first\">\n<div class=\"cmsmasters_column_inner\"><div class=\"cmsmasters_text\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 115%;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 115%;\" class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Acanthocytic carcinomas<\/strong> can cause pain and occur in the form of:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_items_sb5h20dowv\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_items cmsmasters_icon_list_type_list\"><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_gq2857fvz\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">Red spots with an irregular shape, which often results in bleeding.<\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_g756d3e269\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">Open wound that bleeds and secretes fluid, while persisting for some time.<\/li><li id=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item_ht6hyavfg8\" class=\"cmsmasters_icon_list_item cmsmasters-icon-custom-checkmark\">Damage with elevated formation and hard surface.<\/li><\/ul><div class=\"cmsmasters_text\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 115%;\" class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Melanoma<\/strong> is manifested by moles, which in the pre-cancer stage are called dysplastic moles and show changes in their form. Thus, the moles become asymmetrical, without formed boundaries, their color changes and they are usually larger than 1 cm.
